Dear forum,
Each time I want to open Ngene, it encounters an error: "Error occured: 7 (CANNOT OPEN FILE)",
and it simply won't start.
I already tried to reinstall it, in different places on my computer, but I always encounter the same error.
Does somebody know what causes this error?
My computer runs on Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit Operating System.
Thanks for helping me out with this annoying error!
Kind regards,
Goedele Van den Broeck

Dear Goedele,
I am not sure what causes the problem, but could you please send an email to contact@choice-metrics.com such that we can provide technical assistance to sort it out?

Dear Goedele
I will email you separately about this, but when this happens it is typically because the operating system has not allowed write access for the Ngene.lf file which is contained in the installation directory. This can be due to enterprise IT policies. Giving this file write access should solve the problem.

Dear Andrew,
Thanks for your quick reply.
It was indeed because of IT policies at my university. If I open Ngene and run it as Administrator, it works fine.
