Dear community,
does anyone have experience with importing a design generated by NGENE into a Sawtooth Lighthouse studio survey for collecting respondent answers? IS that causing import problems or major re-coding issues? Or do you have any recommendations for other platforms to use in order to collect online responses to an DCE created with NGENE?
Appreciating your support!
Thanks!

Re: Import NGENE design into other survey software
I would be keen to know how to import in Sawtooth as well so I hope anyone would answer this question.
In SurveyEngine it can be imported directly or it requires recoding the levels to 0, 1, 2, ... etc. SurveyEngine assumes short format, which means that each row is a choice task (similar to Ngene).
In Qualtrics it requires recoding using 1, 2, 3, ... etc. Qualtrics assumes long format, which means that each row is an alternative in a choice task.
Such recoding can typically easily be done in Excel using VLOOKUP or HLOOKUP. You may need to manually enter the actual text or numbers shown to respondents within the survey instrument.
