Overall the syntax looks reasonable (I made a few syntax corrections as admin).
I would definitely use ;alts=drugA*,drugB* to check for repeated choice tasks since you are using unlabelled alternatives.
The blocking means that each respondent only receives two choice tasks but perhaps that is what ...

Re: Changes in blocking when opening NGD files
Hi Tom
Can you please check that you are using that latest version of Ngene, 1.2.1? You can check via Help menu/About. Versions of the software prior to 1.1.2 will regenerate the blocking column when a design is opened. Since this is generally undesirable, we changed this in versino 1.1.2.

Re: Priors for categorical variables
1. Using zero priors will not confuse Ngene - these effectively will not count towards the dominance checks.
2. The final level specified in syntax is treated as the base level (level 2 for sideeffect). So -0.00001 and -0.00002 line up (although I might have thought very common side effects would ...

Re: Labelled choice experiment, too many constraints?
I have replied to your email, but note the following:
* The ANT attribute is missing from the candidate set
* The optionC.ALI attribute is out of order and should be in the order in which the attribute is introduced in the utility expression.
The Ngene code is not currently doing as many checks on ...

Dear Goedele
I will email you separately about this, but when this happens it is typically because the operating system has not allowed write access for the Ngene.lf file which is contained in the installation directory. This can be due to enterprise IT policies. Giving this file write access ...

Re: Ngene Manual p.78
Thanks for the spot. This is a bug that has been introduced with version 1.2 (due to some new functionality we added). We will fix this in 1.2.1, which should be out in the next 1-2 months.
