My suggestion is to only use dummy coding for numerical attributes when using (near) zero priors in generating an efficient design. For all following steps, you do not need to use dummy coding for numerical attributes, so when you estimate the parameters after collecting pilot data then you can just use a single parameter for the numerical attributes and also in generating an efficient design with non-zero priors there is generally no need to use dummy coding for numerical attributes.
