Designing a choice experiemnt with 2 different respondent gr

Dear all,

I am going to investigate if general public preferences is different from decision-makers. Until now, I designed an experiment with blocks, each having 8 choice scenarioes and 2 alternatives for the general public.

Given that number of respondents in decision-maker group is much less than the generall public, what is your recommendation about the design for the policy-makers? I was thinking about a design with a larger number of choice scenarioes but the same number of alternatives (2 alternative).

What I want to ensure is that, the results between 2 groups will be comparable.

Any experience with this issue and any recommendation will be much appreciated.

Yes the results should be comparable, although you preferably keep the design as similar as possible.

You could consider using the same design for general public and policy makers. For example, suppose the design has 16 choice tasks, namely 2 blocks of 8 choice tasks. Then you could give the general public a single block (8 choice tasks), while you give policy makers two blocks (16 choice tasks).
