Re: Optout with no attributes' levels
I now realize that the design was bad. We ask respondents which machine out of 3 they would buy - (new, made of recyclable materials or 2nd hand) and then we told them to assume that they can lease instead of buying and gave them 3 leasing options plus a 'not-interested in leasing' which is an opt ...

Re: Optout with no attributes' levels
Thanks Michiel,
I wasn't clear enough, sorry, there were two consequent choice tasks
the first choice task (buying only) present no problem, has no optout
U(buying_new) = asc1 + b1 *
U(buying_2nd_hand) = asc2 + b1 *
U(buying_recyclable) = b1*
The second choice task (leasing only+optout) is the ...

Optout with no attributes' levels
Hi All,
We have a design in which each respondents received two type of labelled choice tasks:
1. Buying washing machine: 3 menus in which respondents had to choose which washing machine to buy (brand new, 2nd hand, or recycled)
2. Leasing washing machine: 3 menus in which respondents had to choose ...

Re: Mixing generic and labelled alts. in one design
Thank you!
I'll try to design an experiment with (new, new, refurbished).

Mixing generic and labelled alts. in one design
Dear all,
In order to test consumers preferences for brand new good (e.g. washing machine) which have sustainable features (more durable, easier to recycle etc.) vs. refurbished same good with the same levels of durability and recyclability, yet at cheaper prices, I was thinking to create menus with ...

Re: Repeating or Updating experimental design?
One last thing, we also have to repeat a Bayesian D-error efficient design on cell-phones' end-of-use option experiment (i.e. sell to recycling firm, trade-in or sell via second hand market). Yet here the prices have changed a bit (decreased) roughly at the same proportion across the different alts ...

Repeating or Updating experimental design?
Dear all,
Three years ago, we created a Bayesian D-error efficient design (after piloting it for the priors) on consumers' preferences for E-waste recycling.
The data generated from this design was analysed via mixed-logit.
The Journal which research paper is under review with, have asked to ...
