Interpreting efficiency measures for efficient designs
Dear all,
When I run NGENE, one of the MNL efficiency measures listed in the output is the T estimate (and Tp estimate) and also N estimate & N star. I can’t find where these are defined or discussed in the manual. What do they measure and how can I interpret them?
Regards
Tom

Constraining Attribute Levels Within Blocks
Dear All,
I would like to constrain the attribute level of one of the attributes such that it is the same for all choice tasks within each block. For example, I have a cost ($) variable with 4 levels, and a cost-share (C_Share) variable (% of the cost) with 3 levels and I would like to generate a ...

Latest Version of NGENE
I would like to find out if NGENE 1.1.2 is the latest version and whether or not a newer version is likely to be out soon. I recall that some 2-3 years ago, experimental designs for latent class models were not available and that some work was being done along these lines.
Thanks
Tom

Using parameter estimates from simulated model as priors
Hi Team,
I have conducted a pilot survey and used the data collected to estimate a model. I have then used the parameter estimates from the pilot as priors in an experimental design for my final survey. I have also simulated the design (estimated the deterministic components of utility and the ...

Constrained designs
Dear all
I am trying to run the syntax below but I keep getting an error: "An attribute, 'alt2.lnbill', specified in the ';cond' property could not be found. My utility function includes both cost (BILL) and the negative of the natural log of cost (lnbill) so naturally the value taken by lnbill in ...

Re: Efficient design for a latent class model
Dear Michiel
Thanks for the clarification. One issue though about the levels for the price and log(price) variables for each alternative - I assume the levels must be constrained such that when price takes on a certain value (level), say 10, in one alternative, then log(price) should be log(10) i.e ...

Efficient design for a latent class model
Dear All
I am interested in generating an efficient design for a latent class model (LCM). The NGENE manual does not specifically cover designs for LCMs and my assumption is that one needs to generate designs for a number of MNL models each corresponding to a particular class using model averaging ...

Re: Constraints in Ngene
Hi Michiel,
Yes I have 'Design' placed at the top of the syntax. I am running version 1.1.0 and still get the same error as before. Could this be caused by the version I am running?
Thanks
