Hi Michiel,
Thank you for clarification. I have two more questions and would be pleased if you could answer :)
1- If a parameter has an unexpected sign, do you recommend using a uniform distribution as Baysian priors for that specific attribute?
2- When shrinking all parameters by a factor, do ...

Re: Direction of an attribute
Thank you Michiel.
I estimated a latent class model and as you mentioned people attached both positive and negative values to this attribute.
Best, Nasrin

Direction of an attribute
Dear all,
I have an attribute in my design which can get both negative and positive direction, depending on respondents preferences. The attribute is "life expectancy before treatment" and in the pilot study I coded the attribute as dummy and with priors very close to zero (b3.dummy [0.0004|0.0002 ...

Using priors from pilot study
Dear all,
I designed a pilot choice experiment and used very conservatives priors based on expert opinion- for example 0.0001 for a level of attribute X.
I collected data and obtained priors from the pilot study. Should I feel comfortable using priors from the pilot in the main study?- for example ...

Designing a choice experiemnt with 2 different respondent gr
Dear all,
I am going to investigate if general public preferences is different from decision-makers. Until now, I designed an experiment with blocks, each having 8 choice scenarioes and 2 alternatives for the general public.
Given that number of respondents in decision-maker group is much less ...

Number of respondents in pilot phase
Dear all,
I have designed an experiment with 6 blocks and sent it to some people as part of pilot study. As I remember the recommendation was to include about 100 respondents in pilot study. I wonder if in my case I will need about 100 people per block?
Thank you so much for your help!
Best, Nasrin

Partial choice set design
Dear Michiel,
I am trying to generate a partial choice set design using your series of spreadsheets that create candidate sets for a partial choice set design.
In your spreadshits you mention that unavailable attribute levels should be defined in case of partial choice sets and at least one ...

Re: Explicit partial profiles
Dear Michiel,
Thanks for your help. I will try creating an external candidate set for the partial profile design.
With regard to your comment, age and the other two patient characteristics (QoL if un-treated and Life expectancy if un-treated) are not scenario variables. These are attributes that ...

Explicit partial profiles
Dear Ngene users,
I am going to design a CE to study preferences for treatment. In my design, I have 3 attributes related to patient characteristics (age, quality of life and life expectancy), and 2 attributes related to treatment characteristics (effect of treatment and risk).
